About Tilney
Tilney Wickersham has a B.A. from Yale University and a Certificate in College Counseling from the University of California, San Diego. She has twenty-five years of experience as a classroom teacher, in both middle school and high school. Her love for building relationships with students and watching them grow led her to continue her education work as an independent college consultant and tutor after retiring from the classroom. Tilney is able to work with students across the country.
I aim to empower students to take charge of their own admissions process with them through the whole journey.
The best advice I can give to a student thinking about college is: be who you are, develop your talents and passions, and then let the chips fall where they may. I can help your child define what is important to them and who they want to be in order to identify colleges that match their values and goals. I will support them as they refine their applications to show their schools the best version of the person they are and aspire to become, and I will work with your family’s values and needs in the final decision-making so that your child ends up in a school where they can flourish both academically and socially.
“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.”
